Interview question for Safety Engineer
Safety officer is responsible for ensuring safety regulations that are adhere to and ensuring that nobody is violating safety regulations. The main aim of their job is to minimize occupational injuries, accidents and health problems.
1. What Is Safety ?
- It is a condition which gives you freedom from hazard, risk, accident which may cause injury, damage and loss to material or property damage and even death.
- Safety is defined as freedom from those condition that can cause injury to persons including death or damage to property or environment.
2. What do you consider to be your professional strengths? Give me a specific example using this attribute in the workplace?
My professional strength is Training & Orientation because when I started my carrier from lecturer. Right Now I am working in Arabic people company But with in short period I involved them through their language. Oneday I evacuated more than 20 people from the besement working area consider in confined space that lifting time suspended load swing more speed due to the sudden air. I gave proper signal to them with few seconds all wind up from there befors the load slip.
My strengths are listening other patiently, explaining about the topic, Root cause analysis, Safety observation.
3. What type of people do you work with most effectively?
- People with team spirit. Always motivate others.
- Like to work with a friendly environment people that willing to share their earned experiences and knowledge.
- People with technical expertise in engineering.
- The one who sticks to the rules and follows them correctly.
4. What Is Injury?
It is defined as a harmful condition sustained by the body as a result of an accident.
5. Why did you choose a career in safety?
- I don’t want to do govt jobs so I am interested to work in safety.
- I am compassionate to help people, good communication and delivering skill.
6. What goals do you have in your career?
- Safety is a profession that help lot of people with regards to health, safety and environment.
- I worked with the egyptian people in effectively.
- Safety is important than other any job in life.
7. What Is Incident?
It is an event which represents deviation from the intended sequence of designed steps.
8. What Is Safety Audit?
The safety audit is the process that identifies un-safe conditions and unsafe acts the plant and recommended safety improvement.Walk through It evaluates the unsafe condition notice able to naked eye during work through the plant. (Stores, civil work, erection work) Inter mediate-more details study and review of plant design and plant operation. Comprehensive –It evaluates the safety factors in the plant on the base engineering, analysis, testing and measurement)
9. What Is Safety Programme?
Safety programme can be defined as five methods by which accident can be prevent easily they are engineering, education, enforcement, enthusiasm and example safety programmes are plain spoken and carry out certain legal steps.
10. What Is Attitude?
Attitude may be described as continuous behavior . if man’s behavior is good, then his action will be either correct or safe.
11. How well do you know our manufacturing process?
- Yes I am well familiar with your manufacturing process.
- I am working in similar industries and also searched on web to get enough knowledge.
- Well enough to implement safety and health policies.
- Have read your company profile on net and is the same work am done before.
- It a process involve machinery with human interface.
12. What Is Confined Space?
An area which is small and enclosed or an area where one entry and exits or where a man cannot work comfortable in any location is caused confined space.

15. Tell me about a successful safety improvement you created at your last job?
- Organized interim safety campaign, Participated IIF walkthrough, no one get injured even a minor injuries or bad health.
- Awareness of safety throughout the work.
- I told previously that my successful is close relationship with worker and proper communication order, training and Continuous observation review.
- Achieve 10 million safe man hour without LTI.
16. What Is Gas Cutting?
The process of joining of cutting metals by using oxygen and combustible gas is called gas cutting.
17. What Is Sandblasting?
The process of removing rust dust, dirt, scales and old prints from the old surface using compressed air is called sand blasting.
18. What experience do you have installing safety devices on our type of machinery?
- Chalwyn Valve was an important role to play inside the plant.
- When I was in galvanizing industry their galvanizing unit with out isolated and inside huge amount of heat sustain. I deployed sensor door for the isolation of that and deployed ventilation for reducing heat.
19. Tell me about a time when you investigated a work-related injury and were unable to create a solution?
- Concrete crew got acne problem after concreting. We searched thoroughly. Long working hours was the main cause. Type of PPE which wasn’t avoided.
- My last investigation that lifting collapse. I investigated that accident was done 20 minutes before end of the shift. The rigging supervisor and two rigger was presented and did correct procedure of safe lifting and barricade. Tower crane operator also competent and all check list has did correct. Tag line also using there.
- Nature climate also good. But lifting time suspended load was collapsed and one guy was injured. I did not know the solution for the accident.
20. What Is Manual Handling?
The process of lifting, carrying and stacking materials by men is called manual handling.
