1. Why did you choose a career in pharmacy?

Interviewers ask this question to determine what most attracted you to a specific role within a particular organization. They also want to gauge your level of passion for helping others.
“Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated with the medical profession. But the most interesting part of the profession is how drugs heal different ailments. This was why I chose pharmacy and I have been preparing myself for the role for a long time. I believe I am well-equipped to deliver value to customers and help the pharmacy achieve its goals.

2. What Is The Responsibility Of A Pharmacist?

The responsibility of a pharmacist is to
o Manage a drug store
o Advising patients and physicians
o Verifying accuracy of prescription
o Reviewing possible side effects
o Assigning correct dosage
o Recommending most appropriate non-prescription drug
o Give information to the patient about drug interaction

3. What problematic situations can occur in a pharmacy?

A pharmacist deals with all kinds of problems. Angry customers, a prescription they can not read, lack of medication, conflicts with colleagues. Show us that you see your job realistically, that you count with the difficulties, that you are ready to face them with smile and dignity.
Once you list the problems, interviewers may give you additional questions. They may ask you about one of the problems, for example they may inquire how you would spot a drug seeking behavior. And if they do not ask about it, you can go ahead and talk about the way you plan to address particular problems

5. What is the most vital business aspect of a pharmacist’s job?

A pharmacy is a for-profit business although the main motive is to provide quality care to patients. The recruiter asks this question to test your understanding of the business side of a pharmacy. Use this opportunity to show your knowledge of running a profitable pharmacy, how to attract customers, keep expenses low and scale the business.
In your answer, show your understanding of other responsibilities of pharmacists such as management, conflict resolution, logistics, inventory management and customer service. From your response, the hiring manager can determine whether you will be a good fit for the pharmacy and the level of value you can add to the business.
Example: “The primary role of a pharmacist is to provide top-quality care for patients and for me that is the most important aspect of this business. By offering customized care that addresses the unique needs of each patient, the pharmacy wins their loyalty and transforms them into long-term customers and advocates of the business.

6. What Are The Side Effects Of Methadone?

The side effects of methadone are:
o Feeling anxious, nervous or restless
o Insomnia ( Sleeping disorder )
o Feeling drowsy and weak
o Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, loss of appetite, dry mouth
o Impotence

7. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Pharmacists do not have to possess excellent leadership or management skills. They will do fine with average computer skills, and they do not have to be in an excellent physical condition.
What I try to suggest is that every job is different, and what matters for one role is irrelevant (or at least not essential) for another one.
Try to speak about strengths that are relevant for a pharmacist, such as communication skills, attention to detail, sales skills, ability to understand the needs of the others, strong knowledge of drugs and their interactions, etc.

8. Classify The Controlled Drug? What Is The Storage Procedure For Controlled Drug?

Controlled drug is classified into five, Schedule type 1, Schedule type 2, Schedule type 3, Schedule type 4 and Schedule 5.
For CD drug, it should be stored into a closed cabinet made up of metal and with a lock on it. Moreover, only authorized person should have an access to it and only he can administer the CD drug to the patient. For home visit doctor should carry in a lockable bag.Phatmacist.

9. What study subject did you like the most? What subjects did you struggle with?

Your answer to this question helps us to understand your attitude to work and to pharmacy. I suggest you to speak about practical subjects.Emphasize that you enjoyed your practice, and that the experience has helped you to confirm your career choice.
On the other hand, each of us struggled with a subject or two. Be honest, tell us that you struggled, but ensure the interviewers that you did your very best to eventually pass the exams, becasue you understood the importance of each single subject at pharmacy school.

10. What Are The Errors That A Pharmacist Should Avoid While Dispensing Drug?

o Patient’s wrong information (age, weight, allergies, pregnancy status, etc.)
o Inaccurate drug information
o Miscommunication between health professionals, staff and patient
o Wrong drug labelling, packaging and nomenclature ( lookalike drug or package)
o Inadequate education given to staff related to drugs
o Inappropriate way of storage, standardization and distribution of drugs
o Ignoring quality processes and risk management
o Inappropriate way of medication delivery device acquisition

11. What do you do if a customer asks about an over-the-counter drug you don’t know about?

This question is aimed at testing your research skills, communication skills and customer service abilities.
If a customer asks about a drug you’re unfamiliar with, be honest and transparent. Inquire among the other team members if they are familiar with the medication. If not, tell the customer you will research the drug and follow-up with them when you know more.
Example: “I would inform the customer that I was unfamiliar with the medication but that I would find out if my colleagues were familiar with it. If they aren’t, I would tell them I would find out more information about it and let them know as soon as I learned more. I would get their contact information and follow up within 24 hours.”
