This position is located in a Federal Bureau of Prisons federal correctional facility, in the Special Investigative Services Office. The Special Investigative Services Technician serves as an assistant to the Special Investigative Agent (SIA)/Special Investigative Supervisor (SIS) and is responsible for providing assistance during investigations, developing reports, preparing correspondence, maintaining evidence, and computer support.
As a general rule, education is not creditable above GL-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position..
