The Guidance Assistant supports the Guidance office by ensuring the smooth transition of paperwork and information into and out of the department. The Guidance Assistant also provides help to parents, students, and Keystone employees in all matters related to Guidance services.

AS A VIRTUAL GUIDANCE ASSISTANT, YOU WILL…

  • Monitor guidance@keystonehighschool.com email account daily and process incoming email appropriately.
  • Respond to general guidance questions via phone and email from parents, students, school officials and other Keystone staff.
  • Evaluate incoming transcripts.
  • Input accurate and timely data for use by other departments.
  • Update student information in all applicable databases; Evaluate, complete and track college application paperwork for senior level students.
  • Evaluate and complete student employment forms, work permits, etc.
  • Process and mail student diplomas.
  • File all student paperwork into hard-copy records as appropriate.
  • Note all interactions or pertinent actions in student electronic record.
  • Verify completeness of homeschool portfolios prior to review by committee.
  • All other duties as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assimilate business policies and processes into practice.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Team player with positive, outgoing, flexible attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task, while keeping to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability and initiative to solve problems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to pass required background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in Education
  • Experience in the fields of teaching, school counseling, or distance learning
  • Experience in a customer service environment
