Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has a career opportunity for an Entry Level Civil / Transportation CAD Drafter to join our Denver, CO team. The ideal candidate has sharp technical capabilities and a commitment to delivering a quality product.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Support civil transportation projects including roadways and structures
  • Under close supervision and according to established standards and procedures will create detailed civil drawings, layouts and sketches using computer-aided design software including AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Detail plan sheets for bridges, walls, culverts, and other drainage features for transportation projects
  • Assist engineers to produce plan sets for clients and manage CAD production
  • Design or redesign complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from project team
  • Work with project team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs and make corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staff
  • Adhere to discipline-specific CAD standards

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • 0 to 1+ years related civil drafting experience
  • Roadway, civil experience is a plus
  • MicroStation Inroads and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a must
  • Interest in structural and civil roadway drafting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate superior written work products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Experience with CDOT and/or Central Federal Lands projects is a plus
  • Must pass drug test and background check
