Overview / Responsibilities
Wood has a career opportunity for an Entry Level Civil / Transportation CAD Drafter to join our Denver, CO team. The ideal candidate has sharp technical capabilities and a commitment to delivering a quality product.
Key Responsibilities
- Support civil transportation projects including roadways and structures
- Under close supervision and according to established standards and procedures will create detailed civil drawings, layouts and sketches using computer-aided design software including AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Detail plan sheets for bridges, walls, culverts, and other drainage features for transportation projects
- Assist engineers to produce plan sets for clients and manage CAD production
- Design or redesign complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from project team
- Work with project team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs and make corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staff
- Adhere to discipline-specific CAD standards
Skills / Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 0 to 1+ years related civil drafting experience
- Roadway, civil experience is a plus
- MicroStation Inroads and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a must
- Interest in structural and civil roadway drafting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and independently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate superior written work products
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Experience with CDOT and/or Central Federal Lands projects is a plus
- Must pass drug test and background check
