Description

Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA seeks Assistant Professor of Church History. Duties: Teaching Church History, including Anglican/Episcopalian history from the Reformation to the present; Teaching residentially on the Ambridge campus for the purpose of creating transformational leaders. Additional venues may include: online; Participating in all four degree programs and supervising Masters and Doctoral theses as necessary and appropriate; Preaching and officiating regularly in Trinity Chapel and other venues; Participating as a member of faculty in mentoring students, which may include being an advisor for the Leadership Formation Group which meets weekly during the semester.

Meeting with students formally and informally in order to nurture their spiritual growth; Pursuing excellence in scholarship through research, writing and speaking, maintaining professional relationships, participating in conferences, cultivating collegial relationships with others in their professional field; Being competent in the use of technology and teaching, including media-enhanced instruction, web-based instruction, and interactive learning.

Displaying respect for the historical tradition of Evangelical Anglicanism; Respecting positions that differ from their own, e.g.: ordination of women; Operating on first name terms with all members of the TSM community, including faculty, staff, and students; Involvement in faculty meetings and other committees as required in the Seminary and beyond; Supporting the mission of TSM in performing administrative and ministerial tasks.

Participating in the regular process of faculty evaluation and other procedures in compliance with the Faculty Handbook; Nurturing strong and positive relationships with mentors and their congregations. Requires: PhD in Theology or Church History. Must be ordained in the Anglican or Episcopal tradition. Must have knowledge of Church History, including Anglican and Episcopal Church History, be a person of deep prayer and have full ex animo subscription to the statement of faith and covenant of TSM and full support for its vision, purpose and values. $67,425/year.
